In 1995, Susanne and Felix Puello founded the brand Haibike. Susanne is the CEO of Winora Group and great-granddaughter to the company founder, Engelbert Wiener.
In the beginning these sporty bikes were still offered under the name of their parent brand Winora, but soon became Haibike. Over the next 15 years, the brand developed new models and further advanced both visually and technically.
A first in history: Haibike is presented one of the most renowned international design awards, the iF award, five times. This includes three ePerformance and two Performance bikes. This is the first time a single manufacturer wins so many awards at one time.
The Modular Rail System (MRS) makes it possible to mount different components easily and quickly on the bike. The upper side of the down tube features an integrated mounting rail on which you can freely decide where to mount items for example bottles or bags.
Our new InTube Battery Concept (IBC) offers a new level of integration, aesthetic beauty and functionality. The lithium-ion battery fits into the downtube and offers a 500Wh capacity. The integrated motor concept eliminates the need for mounting plates, reducing the size of the casing needed for the motor.
Working closely with TQ a company that designs movement mechanisms for modern sattelites, Haibike have created the FLYON motor system. Offering 120Nm of instant torque instead of using a speed sensor Haibike uses a sensor disc that has been previously used on ABS systems to calculate power transfer. The battery, motor and display have all been developed to work together and added features like a built in light system on some models makes Haibike one of the first companies to enter into the next generation of E bikes.
