FOCUS ARE A GERMAN BICYCLE MANUFACTURER WHO HAS A STRONG REPUTATION OF DESIGNING AND BUILDING HIGH SPEC ROAD AND MOUNTAIN BIKES. TRIED AND TESTED AT THE HIGHEST LEVELS, FOCUS BIKES LOOK AS GOOD AS THEY RIDE. WITH INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY, FOCUS E-BIKES CONTINUE TO LEAD THE WAY IN PERFORMANCE E-MOUNTAIN AND E-ROAD BIKE.
Sitting in the saddle sets the world to rights for you. No matter whether you’re out on your own giving it everything you’ve got or out with your mates, riding wheel to wheel to push one another to reach peak performance, you enjoy every turn of the pedals and every kilometer.
Experiences are the best when you share them. In a nutshell, Focus concentrate on the perfect performance bike so that you can focus all your energies on your experience. Focus call that the “German Engineered Experience”.
Focus' Factory Spec is a specific model within a bike family that a FOCUS employee has equipped to his or her specifications. Their employees are enthusiastic cyclists. They have big plans year in, year out, and spend a lot of time in the saddle.
F.O.L.D. stands for FOCUS Optimised Linkage Design, and offers the ultimate in rear suspension. The patented F.O.L.D. kinematics make it possible to optimise the suspension for an extremely wide range of different requirements. This ensures maximum riding fun both when racing and on long adventures.
Thru axles increase stability and stiffness, but usually, also take more time to change the wheel. Not so with FOCUS. The specially designed Rapid Axle Technology is the fastest wheel-change system; much more so than even traditional quick-release levers.
Thanks to the Tailored Energy Concept (T.E.C.), there are three different options for the down tube: either with integrated battery only, with the option of installing an additional battery (T.E.C. pack) with a flick of the wrist or alternatively of fitting a bottle cage using a simple click system (Smart Rack).
Focus are always developing new solutions for the best riding experience. In order to optimise that comfort, FOCUS engineers have developed C.I.A. technology. With years of frame analyses, they have been able to identify and optimise key comfort points of the frameset. Focus call these Comfort Improving Areas (C.I.A.).
When you’re out and about, particularly on rough terrain, you and your bike are subjected to constant vertical forces. Compensating these forces takes energy and depletes reserves you may need later during your ride.
The FOCUS engineers carried out finite element analyses (FEA) in order to find out how, and exactly where, these forces affect the frame and how the design of the frame could be adapted to increase comfort. This saw the development of not only comfort-enhancing tube cross-sections and forms, but also special frame designs capable of deflecting those forces and ensuring a smooth ride even on uneven ground.
Focus Integration Technology (F.I.T.) describes the process of designing their carbon frame structures in such a way that the structures are optimized to the riding that they want to bring to a specific model. It maximises the benefits that constructing bicycle frames from carbon brings. Excellent stiffness at low weights with the stability that is needed for a bike's intended purposes. As such, there is no 'one-way' Focus use F.I.T. to design their bikes, all engineering and design are adapted to the requirements of that specific bike. In the case of PARALANE², this lead to an e-road bike with razor-sharp cornering abilities, a stiffness that allows spirited riding, and a low system weight of under 13kg with motor and battery pack. Focus wouldn't have settled for less.
